Efectos metabólicos del ayuno intermitente en pacientes adultos con síndrome metabólico

Resumen

El síndrome metabólico incluye varias alteraciones que ponen en riesgo la vida, por la relación con diferentes comorbilidades y complicaciones, actualmente ha surgido el ayuno intermitente como una nueva estrategia dietética. Al ser un nuevo modelo se quiere de ampliar la información, ya que se vivimos en un mundo globalizado donde se tiende a imitar conductas sin conocer a profundidad los principios e impacto de su aplicación. Por lo cual, el objetivo general es describir los efectos metabólicos del ayuno intermitente en pacientes adultos con síndrome metabólico. La metodología utilizada para el presente trabajo de investigación, se enmarca dentro de una revisión narrativa a través de una búsqueda avanzada en bases de datos indexadas de alto impacto como Pubmed y Scopus desde el 2018 al 2023. De acuerdo a la información analizada se evidenció que la aplicación del ayuno intermitente provocó cuatro principales efectos metabólicos que abarcan la pérdida de peso, disminución sérica de triglicéridos, lipoproteínas de baja densidad, insulina- glucosa y presión arterial. Por lo tanto, la aplicación del ayuno es una buena alternativa en pacientes con alteraciones metabólicas, sin embargo, se requieren más estudios con población significativa.
